A still unsolved, yet clinically relevant problem ist the segmentation
of the liver. Visualizing the liver and its main vessel systems is
a valuable tool for planning liver surgery like resections or
transplants.
Our algorithm ranked high in all rounds of the MICCAI Grand Challenge 2007.
For the requirements of the Institut für Hämostaseologie und
Transfusionsmedizin we deliver visualization techniques for
3D time sequences ("4D data").
This project was completed as a PhD thesis and is now available commercially
as a certified medical product (ColoTux)
for virtual ultra low dose coloscopy.
The project was awarded the 2nd
Invention Award
at the
Deutschen Röntgenkongress 2003.
We support the group of
